I went to school and learned, but she's right - a lot of the practical can be missed. I didn't really learn pattern making, but could sew anything from a pattern. However one of my friends could make a pattern with ease. She just figured it out. We made a great team!

Best way to learn is your own way. Trusting yourself and leading yourself to the top

Of course there's nothing wrong with doing it like that, that's how you learn and kudos to you for telling your process cuz a lot of people wouldn't say that behind the scenes stuff about buying another vest and taking apart to study how it's made & all, they would just say it was all them! But you are very humbled person and can admit when you don't know how to do something and you got out there and found a way to learn, so I think you went about it perfectly!! And it's really great that you admit that you're still in the learning process and I really appreciate that in your videos!! And I know a lot of other people starting out will appreciate that as well!! And since the 90s are back now I just gotta say.... You Go Girl!! 🤣😉❤️😁

What makes it more beautiful is that your self thought trust and believe you're going far glad I found you

The fact that you didn’t get absolutely everything from fashion school and literally figured the rest out, actually makes you MORE BOMB! It just shows that degrees and all that are helpful and look good on paper, but they aren’t necessary to master a skill and win in the business! You are brilliant!

Always learn what you can but learning as you go, by doing it is always going to lead to good results! As long as the passion is there.

Im in the same boat as you! Im still working at marketing my brand and gettinf myself up to my own standards as i dont want to come out and look half assed in the slightest so I hope to soon be a partnering designer on social media too!! I do it here in Seattle already but the social media aspect is what has been super hard for me. Im just not that into it regularly for my life so its a new kinda forced thing... hahaha

You are truly talented! I love to watch your videos. I actually made my graduation dress that had a double circular skirt and also I did tailoring of a walking suit with lining and button-bound button holes.

My mom is a seamstress and is totally self-taught too. She used to sew all of the bulletproof vests and police vests for a local police dept, including the K9s. She, like you, made her own patterns and created her own ideas. She’s so good at what she does. I love watching both of you rip shit apart and give it new life— so satisfying!!

My only issue is that someone else birthday should not be the time you experiment with someone else's special day and money ijs
