No need for me to upgrade the Live2 is all I need. It's a portable recording studio. I have a 17inch backpack I put everything in it and I'm gone. I understand they are going to keep making new devices, but for right now I'm more than good. Thanks for the video Bolo.

I get how being DAW dependent is a deterrent. But it does make sense that they designed it that way.
Bolo already said it: if you want that standalone feel, you don’t need it.

I got friends that want to get into an akai workflow and it’s definitely a good step in that direction

I personally like the MPC Studio MK2 being intergrated into the PC, don't mind using a much larger monitor either!

In my opinion, Akai should pick up where they left off with the MPC Studio Black, and enhance it to where it becomes like the modern, updated version of the MPC 1000; if you know what I mean.

I copped it strictly for my macbook pro to travel. My MPC TOUCH will still be my workhorse for my main setup. And Guitar Center has an offer that took $40 off the sticker price. Can't beat that!

I was going to get the Live or the One for the plugins only!!! This would be the the next best thing for me to get since it’s under $300

I just bought the new mpc studio 2 like as stated it’s pretty much a midi controller.People that own the mpc standalone state there is no q links you have to do it from the software or toggle for it with the new effects strip added.Also mpc standalone people also state some of the button setup might be different from the standalone version.If you want the mpc look for just a midi controller get this if you are more hands on and don’t Rely on the computer screen this is not a buy for you.

I could buy this plus a high-powered touch screen laptop and wouldn't miss my MPC X...Ok, I lied just a little, but you get the point. My opinion is that the MPC software is about to out grow its hardware companions. The MPC software has DAW potential but how do you accomplish that without leaving your current flagships behind? Tough transition spot for Akai.

If I didn’t have an MPC. I would get this. Personally I like it. I would prefer this over the mikro. You get a whole DAW. My two cents.

A used MPC touch, is a better choice than this, the touch has a 7’ screen. Bolo you didn’t mention the touch, I know that it’s discontinued, but a used mpc touch is the way to go.oh the mpc touch also has a built in sound card.

It's great to have a nice controller with pads for your DAW
And fast access to scales and chords
A "computer in a box" standalone thing can't be compared to a fullblown DAW with a big monitor
I'm glad AKAI made the MPC Studio
