In this video, I share the five things I really like about the new Akai MPC Studio. This is my review of the Akai MPC Studio. I talk about the pad feel, the ease of getting started, the form factor, sampling workflow, and some of the features I really love like the touch strip, 16 level, and more. I’ll also include some pros and cons to buying the Akai MPC Studio.

I absolutely LOVE the Form Factor to easily fit it in my backpack along w/Laptop.
To me, the freedom to be there when you are out and Inspiration HITS, is lifeless!

Best $130 I ever spent! Love this machine! Bit of a learning curve when first starting especially with learning the MPC software but once you get the hang of how it works and navigating with the buttons on the MPC Studio, it just makes music producing so much easier and fun! You can even live DJ different songs on the fly! Crazy how much you can do with this little device if you really push the limits and get creative! Def would recommend for anybody who wants an MPC device but still wants to record into Ableton and work in the Ableton Daw.

I have to MPC Touch which is years old but still fully compatible with the latest software releases. It's a beast compared to this one with the full sized screen you has everything this has to offer and a whole lot more. Nice to see old gear standing the test of time!! Great video!

this could have been absolutely perfect if they added the four qlinks the mk1 had and a slightly larger screen. instead it seems like they went for a clone of the Maschine Mikro... which is fine, I guess? but the whole point of the MPC is having to use the PC as little as possible. I guess they really didn't want to cannibalize sales of the Live Mk2 and One. I do like the touchstrip though! Hope that comes to the other models at some point.

Nice overview!
While I do prefer standalone devices for this type of task, this MPC Studio is definitely a GREAT entry point to the world of Akai beatmaking, costing less than half of the MPC One, for FULL size pads, and including full version of MPC 2.10 software and its new synths, great tutorials for newbies to the device and Akai world... I mean, it's definitely worth a look!

I was planning to repair my MPC1000 but I just saw at the store near where I live have an 80$ price drop on the Studio 2 right now ! Totally an awesome price when you consider that MPC Software 2 is included with it ! I think I will take a chance and get one. The touch strip looks like a ton of fun compared to the 2 Q-Link on the 1000 !

I have been a bit of a traditionalist, prefering standalone grooveboxes up to now. But realistically, it is a bit of a pain transfering or recording your groovebox, isn't it just better to have it integrated into the DAW, where it is going to end up anyway? The price too is very attractive, considering that this is probably more powerful and flexible than the MPC One, Live 2 or even MPCX. I hate the flat (not angled) screen on the MPC One, plus, are'nt you really chained to the desk with it anyway (and the MPCX). The only true portable is the MPC Live 2, which is great, but very expensive and not as flexible as this!

I think Akia tease with products like this for future hardware design...not saying it's not useful...especially at the price point...looking forward for more great products from Akia...👍

I really enjoyed this product review especially for the price of this most of the gear I’m looking at is in this price range or well below lol, how do you think this would compare to Native Instruments Mikro? Could you possibly do a comparison video of these two? Also amazing content as always Sanjay!
