Health systems in situations of adversity: what is resilience?

Показать описание
In times of adversity, like the ongoing crisis in Syria, where the health and wellbeing of civilians has been compromised and thousands of people have been displaced, how do health systems remain resilient and serve the changing needs of the population?
QMU’s Institute for Global Health and Development has been working on a research project with the American University of Beirut and UNRWA (The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees) to identify how the Agency’s health systems have been resilient while coping with increasing numbers of patients in Lebanon and Jordan and providing health care in an active war zone in Syria.
This video outlines the three main factors that allow for resilience in a health system: absorbing, adapting and transforming.
