First how to cook roadkill, now how to clean water, episodes on how people ate during the great depression... Emmy is teaching us survival skills! I love her topics!

Emmy knows something we don’t. MREs, roadkill, filtered water…zombie apocalypse, perhaps?

I went to Amazon. What you can't see easily is that there is a carbon filter in the spigot that filters the last bits of stuff. So it is best to use the powder AND the bag to get the cleanest water. And it is a great idea. Definitely going in my camping gear.

First eating possum, now drinking swamp water. Before you know it, Emmy is gonna be dippin snuff and whittling on the front porch. ;)

Can I just say, the absolute mood that is Emmy's backyard ambiance! Chickens cooing and clucking, children playing, sunshine, daffodils...

I've seen videos about this method, and usually they use the cleaning substance twice, and then boiled the water before drinking it. I was surprised emmy tried the water just as it turned out, even with the slightly yellow tint. I'm glad it was ok and she's fine 😂

Emmy, between the roadkill possum and swamp water...I'm starting to get a little concerned.

The sludge draining into the bucket was so satisfying

These were actually developed for use in developing countries with limited or no access to potable water and weren't initially available to the general public.
I've tried buying the sachets for emergency use but it seems that they're always close to being expired. That and they are only good for 3 years.
Excellent system though. I've used them with just a 5 gallon bucket.

Was ready to hear "eat the ducky moss“ as is standard but heard the other word instead. This video seemed a bit different than a lot recent ones but was still enjoyable. Thanks Emmy.

I remember when Emmy was in Japan and was making early YouTube videos with her laptop.

Now she’s auditioning for the Fallout Vault boss.

We tested this powder for a lab activity in one of my environmental health classes and saw there was still some E. coli remaining in the water.. Although the water looks and smells clear, it can still have pathogens harmful to your health. If you really want to be safe I would recommend putting the water to a rolling boil afterwards to be sure you're killing off the pathogens. (or just drink from tap that has gone through extensive filtration process lol) If you're really resource strapped (ex: stranded in middle of woods) and there's no other option than I would say go for it, but I wouldn't recommend for average person in their home.

We use chalk candles and ceramic pots here in Rwanda. Anything that involves buying sachets wouldn't be useful in countries where supply chains are unreliable. Half the year you probably wouldn’t be able to get the powder. Pots and chalk candles are also very easy to clean. Though it's probably best to take water from the top of the stream rather than dredging the mud. As an experiment, it's fun, but for long-term health, probably go for the cleanest-looking water you can find. Also, when it comes out of a chalk or pot filter, the water is absolutely clear 😊
