Congrats on 1 mill Anton! You deserve it! You've kept your scientific grind through the toughest of times and I have nothing but respect for you and your dedication to knowledge.

I love watching a dynamic universe. Lots of times staring at the night sky, everything looks so static and unchanging. Thanks for showing us a living and breathing universe.

One thing antons channel has opened my eyes to is just how many new things we are discovering. I knew it was a lot but it's almost every day anton brings us a new discovery. Thanks anton, your the best

Im really looking forward to the 12th of this month when the first full res image from James Webb is released. We may see things that change humanity's understanding of space in a crazy way.

Our journey of discovery as it relates to the cosmo has repeatedly shown us that the universe is not only strange, but often stranger than even we can imagine.

Thus it is a fools errand to place arbitrary limits based purely on what we believe to be "conceivable".

Nothing is off the table until you've looked at and covered every nook and cranny of our home universe, and thus far we've only managed the first tentative baby steps.

Damn Anton is such a boss! He is so damn smart able to explain complex subject matter in common terms. That is the hallmark of a genius

I see space discoveries in many places on the internet but don't necesary confirm it true until its told by the most wonderful person... Anton

the fact that we are quite literally the universe attempting to understand itself, blows my mind every single time.

There once was a man whose last name was Odd. He tried to live a normal life but for his whole life, every time he said something, they would reply "That's Odd." One day, he left us. His last wish was to Rest In Peace so he asked no name on his tombstone. So now when people go to the cemetery and see his headstone, they always see it and say "That's Odd."

The fact that you release content almost every day is absolutely astounding. You're an animal Anton.

I just want to thank you once again Anton, for bringing such vibrant, interesting science back into my life. Finding all this information on my own would be challenging at best! But thanks to your channel, I can keep up on my sub-hobby of astronomy! Thank You, and keep it coming!!

Quasars are better than stars for GPS satellites to keep track of their position because of the pulses. Those pulses come from different directions, and the satellite can tell how much closer or further than Earth it is from that quasar by whether the pulse wavefront is shifted a fractional second early or a fractional second late. Once you have the pulse timing offsets from four different quasars, your position is known to the limit of your clock's accuracy. And we can make some really good clocks.

This is awesome! Thanks for sharing, you are literally my pillar for science news. Please keep doing what you do but at your own pace. Thanks again you Wonderful Person!

I've always wondered how lethal a pulsar would be at various distances.
The radiation at close range (a couple of light-years? Tens of light-years?) couldn't be good for organic molecules and from what I know would disrupt any biochemistry, killing the ecosystem of an alien planet.
Anybody have an answer?

Congratulations! 1 million subs is an awesome accomplishment!! Onwards to 2 million....

@Anton, an explanation for the pulses could be a "flip" in one of the axis at set intervals, almost like the spinning T-object demonstration on the ISS, due to an imbalance in the object. The reason for the delay between pulses is because the object spins at an angle perpendicular to us, hence why we don't see the pulses from it's spin, but we only see the pulse when the object flips.

That isn't possible.

That happens.

Here's why that happened.
