16 Tons Of Crusher Run Stone Delivered

Today we got a load of crusher run and spread it on the driveway. We are very grateful to have Wylie E. Kioti the tractor to do the heavy lifting. What a great tool to have around the homestead. Our new selfie stick rocks and will be used quite a bit going forward. I hope y'all notice the better picture quality with the new camera phone. It's an LG G5. So far, so good. It takes a bit getting used to coming from using an iphone for the last 8 years but we're figuring it out.

Nice- we just did the same-- had a big truck of crushed gravel and we are learning how to prep for concrete from videos like this. Thanks! We are building a small dog kennel on our homestead.

The big machine that breaks up the rock into small pieces is called a crusher. When the crushed rock comes out of the crusher it is usually run through a sifter and graded into several piles. Some half inch, some three quarter inch, some inch and a half, etc. What was delivered here is called crusher run because it has not been sifted. It is a little cheaper and the fine particles are included with the larger pieces. It is often used for driveways because it packs down better.

Looks good, It will pack down good be less mud to track in, but you will notice after a rain you will probably have to sweep fine particles of grit out of the garage

Have you played basketball on that stone driveway? Curious how it goes dribbling and all because my son wants a flat place to play basketball and I’m currently working to remove stumps and level out the land for it. I was thinking to get stone dust or whatever smallest stone I can to do it as cheap as possible. Otherwise pour concrete at a higher cost maybe?? Any input would be appreciated

If you get a 4x8 12 ft long and chain it under your scraper against the cutting blade. .
It will finish level that rock...
Less racking...
When i ran heavy equipment...(skiploader)
And was finish leveling building pads...
In big housing tracks..
I would grab a 2 car garage header to spin the pads...
Finishes a lot faster.
16 ft passes fasterthan 7 ft passes..

That's a tub body dump..
They don't spread as good as a flat bottom bed...
Always ask if they have flat bottom beds and not tubs for delievery...

That was the worst tailgating job I've seen a trucker do, poor guy has to get his practice in somewhere I guess lol. You will be fine with that crusher, it will set up like concrete with some rain. Looking good keep it up.

That drive did not know what he was doing. I have seen gravel spread like that many times while i was growing up in the rural south. You only set the gate to open about 2 1/2 inches.
