We finally get our hands on the new LiteAF tarp! Chris did a fantastic job designing this tarp. We took it out to Red River Gorge for two wintry days filled with rain and sleet - and this tarp performed flawlessly. This video is our "first look", and commentary on the tarp after using it for only a few days.

Thanks for the video I have a question I just had a tarp custom-made and I opted to get the line locks but the problem I'm having is with my dyneema lines the line locks keep slipping I talked to a couple people and they told me that I need to go with at least three mm lineI was wondering if light AF had something different or if you know a trick or something please help thank you

You set up a tarp and stayed dry...no mistakes made. If anyone is finnicky about wrinkles in their tarp check out tarp worms from Dutch. I absolutely love them with the shock cord helps keep a nice tight pitch, especially in less than ideal conditions. Thanks for the first look!

I want a tarp with a tub floor. Screen doors and windows. Doors and windows covers. A fly. Totally waterproof and bug proof. Loops pockets clothesline and gear lofts. Oh wait. I have one. It's called a tent.

Just wanted to add that the width is slightly more as can be seen in the long shot. This too would add some additional weight and cost but provides more coverage and a lower to the ground pitch.

Pulled the pin on one and got the last one of this run. Can’t wait to get it out, same coverage as a Superfly tarp and saving 11oz. Totally worth it

Would you be able to pitch it on the ground if you had to? Would the doors close effectively? If so, it would be just that much more versatile.

Great first look guys! Seemed to do well on our trip. At least I think you were using it then lol

I’m digging the door features and like you said, go with the gear that can do it all. Utility is key so thanks for letting us know about this LiteAF tarp!

Hello my Outdoors friend, thank you for sharing this great review. If Frozen has his fingerprint on it, then it has to be good. All the best to you guys and your families.

To my surprise, my friend who lives in Flagstaff told me the section of the PCT in that area is relatively flat and basically skirts the mountains. He said that if you were to start in Payson you would be walking up the Mogollon rim and then it is relatively flat after that until the Grand Canyon. I might be telling you nothing new to you, however. He said the time you plan on hiking should be good, weather-wise.

I have the warbonnet tarp with doors. Might be worth the weight savings.

It's a nice tarp for sure it might be the one to make me switch to DCF. I rock a warbonnet with removable doors since I started hammock camping it has been a solid non DCF option. good first look I like that you guys had the hammock gear setup right next to it as a comparison.

Nice Tarp to bad they sold out a few weeks ago. Why the hate for continuous ridgelines?

Awesome video (made even better by Bailey and Jaden)
