I feel a lot of people in the comments are forgetting that drivers don't usually sit in the centre of their windscreen, it's pretty obvious the van was in his pillar blind spot perfectly until it was right in front of him, and you hear him lift off the accelerator about 0.3-0.5 seconds after the van becomes visible (to the driver, not the dashcam)
Yes he takes off quick, but he's not as unaware a driver as the clip makes him appear at first.
