The ULTRAKILL Alt Marksman is good, period

I wouldn’t say alt marksman is bad, no weapon in ULTRAKILL is really “bad.” The worst is probably Default Piercer, but even then it’s not horrible. The main issue I have with it is that the trade-off of no split shot and really long reload just doesn’t feel worth it for that extra damage, and that default marksman actually deals more DPS on enemies with weak points than alt marksman without split shots, but it’s not trash like so many people call it, just a weapon I don’t really prefer using. Excited for when the buff drops though…

I want them to give it the sharpshooter treatment. Instead of four small coins, we get one fat one.

My main issue with alts marksman is its coins dont offer anything you could already get. Using slab piercer+ normal marksman you can get the exact same effect by just swapping over to piercer to shoot the coin, and you still get the slab piercer charged shot for high damage comboes and the damage from slab piercer. I get if its for feel or preference, but to me it is offering nothing of use to me.

Default Marksman:
- Finds greater use in targeting multiple little guys
- Generally used for big combos with other weapons

Alt Marksman:
- Finds greater use as another steady source of damage
- Replaces multi target with the ability to do one punchy shot against a bigger target (baby railcannon)

The instant 2.5 sounds great in theory until you realise you’ll probably have that via the other two slabs, projectile boosts and rockets which are all very easy to access. Although in theory the alt marksman is a great weapon, losing out on being able to do decent chip to 4 or more enemies at once is kind of a bummer, especially when considering the radiant fodder enemies in mid-late cybergrind. If the slarksman ever gets a rework that gives it an actual use beyond single target damage (a job very similarly accomplished by many other weapons), I’d be glad to pick it up. Until then, I’ll stick to my basics.

i just did a cybergrind round with the Altsman along with my regular loadout and ended up doing better than i usually do. instead of relying on the coins more i just used more coin punches. (and for large groups of fodder explosions are just easier than split shotting)

Funnily enough the Marksman has been the only revolver I've left in it's alt form since unlocking them. The other revolvers get a decent hit to their secondary cooldown (especially Sharpshooter my beloved) but the coin recharge speed on alt Marksman seems the same as the default one

i already use slab for my other two revolvers, and i like the versitility of being able to very quickly ricoshot in a pinch. ill admit that it can be good, ive always thought that, but for now im sticking to the ol reliable defualt

Splitshot timings actually reset the slabs now and holy shit if that ain't a quick kill tool

Alt Marksman tip, the hitbox bullet it's bigger, so its more easy to shoot the coins, i learned how to use the coins with that and now i can use the original better

This is exactly why I’ve started always using Alt Marksman.

To be fair, the alt marksman did actually have a pretty negative time penalty before a recent update, and that’s where most of the backlash is coming from

Bro, without the full arsenal buff, having a alt piercer or sharpshooter just outclasses the alt marksman
