This is such an incredible remix of ASGORE, it’s honestly sad to me that almost no one will hear it because of what it takes to get to this encounter

I think it's incredibly sad how different Clover and Frisk's battles with him are.
Frisk gets to hear about how monsters love him, give them hope, and how he suffered a horrible tragedy that lead to the decisions he made.
Clover gets none of that, only that he's the king who has taken the lives of the five humans he sought after and one who sounds incompetent in handling his people. Only knowing that, Clover is nothing but angry at him. They pull out their gun and want to fight, give justice to the ones he has taken. Unfortunately, that anger can only get Clover so far.

Add on the fact that Asgore hesitates with Frisk much more as the final human, his final chance to redeem himself and make amends. The final soul to freeing the monsters and fully acting upon the war against humans. With Clover, he does not feel as much pressure in that moment and if the child wishes nothing but to fight, so be it. Clover doesn't stop to talk, driven by emotion and justice. On all sides, it's just... extremely sad.

I saw gameplay of this. Man, despite not able to fight back, the attacks were almost replicated exactly. Strange how Clover went down easily though when we know later in the timeline Frisk beats Asgore.

Simple explanation why you can't fight back: Clover's death is a canon event and you need LV 20 to break canon.

You know, a part of me wishes it actually went down to the last note of Asgore...




...but then I think: Wait, that's just because I like Asgore.

I still think the genocide fight would have been better suited for Asgore. I would have loved for him to finally go all out and protect his people like the king he’s supposed to be. I understand that the whole point is he wasn’t a good leader, but he clearly was in the past. This song really should have been used for a genocide fight.
