During Summer 2021, I wanted to get more experience directing a commercial shoot to grow my video production skills, so I asked a handful of friends to help me shoot a spec ad idea that I had for a coffee brand I personally really enjoy.

A HUGE thank you and a shoutout to my crew who put their trust in me and volunteered their time, equipment, and skills to help bring my vision to life. If you liked how the spec ad came out, it's thanks to everyone who worked hard behind the scenes to make this happen. Please go check out their work in the links I've listed below!

PRODUCTION CREW:

POST PRODUCTION:
Editor - Lloyd Ea
Colorist - Alan Chung

BEHIND THE SCENES:
BTS Content Shot by Andrew Chan
BTS PHOTOS & VIDEO: coming soon in February

The coffee was purchased locally in Santa Ana, CA at Hidden House Coffee. If you're in Orange County or visiting, it's seriously one of my top coffee shops, so please pay them a visit!

On another note, Hidden House Coffee was not involved in the making of this video. I just kind of went ahead and put this together, so I really hope they don't send me a letter to take down this video.

If you're looking for a video production team to help you shoot your next commercial, please feel free to check out more work on my website and reach out!

What did you think of the coffee commercial? Anything you would've done differently? Got any questions on how our team created certain shots?

LET ME KNOW DOWN BELOW BY JAN 21ST AND I'LL MAKE SURE TO ANSWER IT IN THE UPCOMING BTS VIDEO! :)

I would have done a lot of things differently. Probably would have started with an establishing shot to show the audience. I would have incorporated some more camera movement instead of the static shots of the pouring scenes. Just things I would have done differently. I'm also a moody director so my shots are usually really contrasty. Nothing wrong with this edit. Great job and great team effort!
