Safe or Out? Did the Ump get it right?

totally safe. as an umpire, you can’t call out on tags in the upper leg to mid section area.

Safe but also easy when we have the advantage of replay and slow motion. My sons played since he was 6 all the way thru high school and the last thing I’d want to be is an ump. Especially a home umpire.

At this angle it looks like the runner's foot slides NEXT TO the plate and isn't on the plate until after the tag. The ump is in a better position to have judged if that were the case.

I watched it very closely and his toe touched the plate before the tag. Safe!

He was safe, but hard to see from that ump's angle. It's a close call so I don't fault him.

I think, the umpire couldn't have fully seen this and had to make a judgement call. Not always fair, but what do you expect him to see from that angle?

Hard to tell from this angle but it looks like the foot may have been to the side / back of the plate and the toe did not touch. Can’t be certain with this angle but that is what I would guess the umpire saw.

??? The runner looked safe to me. But I coukd nit see the OTE of his cleats actually going across the plate or "missed it by an inch!"

Can see the ump, about to call safe.. but close call. For little league this is bound to happen occasionally, unfortunately..

Safe. Umpires in youth should have playback cameras too so u know the kid is safe

Safe, umpire's view was instructed by the fielder making the tag. He should have called it from the 3rd base side of the plate. He would have had a much better view.

Out. If you don't think so, check the official scorebook...I'm sure it says out. People especially kids need to learn to accept that imperfection exists and deal with it instead of crying about it.

Safe, but the play at the plate should be advantage defense in little league. Tough play, especially in softball.
