It's a very simple way but adding the text to iPhone's lock screen is now easier than ever, running the latest version of iOS, 16.1. Using this new software and the features it provides, we can easily add any text we want and need.

Hopefully, this video will help you.

How insane is it that this simple feature requires a third party app? Android have had this for years.

It appears that iPhone will not allow access to the Any Text app to add as a widget. 😞

Sad thing it does not allow you to use a larger Widget box and larger font to fit in box. I would like some larger letters and bigger area. Will keep looking but using it for now. Tx

Waiting for iOS 21, which is rumored to get this groundbreaking feature 😀

Is there anyway you could use text edit or something like a PNG in photo gallery and import that in to the lock screen?

Nope. I used Any Text. No widgets show up when I select customize.

How do you get the app icons on the bottom ?

This is the hard way to do it. You can literally type it in a note using the Notes app on your phone screenshot it and use that picture as your lock screen. Simple as that.
