I've suffered from insomnia most of my life and the laughter thing has never helped with that. I always feel more awake after laughing. I even tried watching a comedy show before bed once or twice and it kept me up. It was nice to laugh but didn't help with sleep.

Another example of lips being more sensitive comes in the form of a mother’s kiss to the forehead to check if a fever is still present.

I was born a strawberry blond, a form of redheaded-ness. As I got older I lost most of the red highlights in my hair as it got darker, but genetically, I'm still a redhead.
Redheads also need more anesthesia.
This is why I woke up THREE times during my ACL replacement surgery.
My orthopedic surgeon and the anesthesiologist didn't realize I was a genetic red head.
This also contributes to my being allergic to nearly all opioid narcotics.

Found out being hyperextensive can cause a ton of problems if you don’t stretch daily. Mostly digestive, headaches, and arthritis

I once had a very unusual experience with an MRI. I was placed on the sliding table the goes in, and the machine was started. The techs were surprised to get a message from the machine instructing them to insert patient. They were in the control room and could see the machine through a window. Only my feet were sticking out. They asked me to wiggle my feet. Odd, I thought. After about 5 minutes they took me out of the machine, and returned me to a special waiting area. A while later, I saw another patient come out of the room with the MRI in it. Then they took me back in.

Again, they got the message the machine was ready to scan and they needed to insert a patient.

They ended up contacting the machine's manufacturer to find out what they should do as they didn't understand what was going on.

They were informed that there is a very small percentage of the population that seem to be able to scramble their image inside an MRI. The manufacturer then informed them that I would be the 6th person on record for the country that I live in to have that trait. 6 out of the then 33 million people living there.

Strange, yes. But also true.

Re #2: one of the posters instructing on hand washing techniques that was posted next to sink stated that there are move bacteria living under that ring on your finger than here are people in Europe.
As the infection control nurse I performed an experiment. I took off one of my rings and placed it in a petrie dish, let it sit for five minutes, then pulled it out and placed the dish in a warm dark place.
I then washed my hands including the scrub under the rings. Then followed the same process for inoculating the petrie dish.
48 hours later the first dish was over grown with more than a dozen different bacteria and smelled like toe jam on steroids. The post-washing dish still had bacteria, but WAY less.
Ever since I make sure I scrub under my rings and remove them before cooking food.

I've had mental health issues since childhood and when I survived a suicide attempt I remember them saying it was because I was very intelligent ... Did at the point wish I was stupid and life was easier. Though that intelligence also helped me seek help and manage my condition and be in a good place even if I'm aware I'll always think too much!

It’s also good to let them know you drink for the same reason. Also they need to know how much you smoke. If you have general anesthesia and are a heavy smoker they need to be aware because you may have a tough time breathing on your own once your surgery is over. It is expected that you will be able to have the tube removed from your throat even before you leave the operating room. A heavy smoker may not be able to breathe on their own and could very easily need the tube to remain in place and a ventilator necessary to provide the help needed to maintain your oxygen level . The anesthesiologists that I worked with preferred their patients O2 levels to be at 90% or better. As Mike said, no judgement. It’s for your safety that they ask these questions.

My mother developed fungus looking like tiny veins just under the skin of her ankles... almost purple. The doctor had her wear wool socks as the fungus didn't like it too warm. It worked!

But can you name the person? Face recognition does not mean remembering name.
