150 people dead in flood-related accidents after month-long downpour in Pakistan

Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority said on July 11, 2022, that at least 150 people have died and 160 people were injured from heavy monsoons in the past month. Flooding was particularly dire in Karachi, the largest city in Sindh province, which remained under water on July 12. The extreme weather brought extensive destruction throughout the country, severely damaging homes, roads, bridges and power stations.
