Показать описание
This is part of my Origami Crease Pattern Class video series. It is a tutorial on the first set of downshifters common to boxpleated insects. This specific example comes from the abdomen of Damian Malicki's Sun Beetle which Damian kindly gave me permission to use. This Origami Tutorial will help demystify precrease and collapse myths on this structure.

Thank you to my friends for giving me permission to use their designs in my video! Always ask permission! :)

Again, super helpful. Without this tutorial I would've never guessed it was supposed to be done like this. Thanks!

This was very helpful. Especially for the beetle. Those pleats were always a problem while precreasing.

Me: challenging myself to complete the collapse before you explain it
Boice: this one you don't have to precrease it
Me: dammit!

I watch you and fearless flourish a lot
Where do you get the crease patterns for the complex models?
Like the sun beetle you showed in this video
You a great job with this channel and you really helped me learn more about origami!

So when I folded this the sink fold off angle creases deep in the paper didn't match up to the crease pattern exactly but it doesn't matter so long as the visible mountain/valley folds are correct - is that a good way of looking at it?
