Fun fact: The Dodge Charger Daytona was first raced on Talladega, while the Ford Torino Talladega was first raced on Daytona.

Fun fact, AMC was the first NASCAR manufacturer to utilize disk brakes on all four wheels. Not Ford, not GM, not Chrysler... AMC

I always thought the Superbird and Daytona looked like hotwheels. For me I never once thought it was a bad design. Always thought it was cool and sleek.

About the "you hated it the first time you saw it" line, I fell in love with the Daytona before I even knew it was called the Daytona when I watched Cars as a 3 year old, the sleek front nose, the large wing in the rear, it made me fall in love with car culture

I fell in love with the Dayton/Superbird the first time I saw one. I liked the Charger Daytona better, but not by much. Those things are still what I think a "race car" should look like. I also loved the AMC Matador's mostly because I liked the guys who drove them, but I thought the car was nice looking too. I stil do actually.

Sorry S1ap, as a 9 and 10 year old the Daytona and Superbird were the coolest cars ever invented in my eyes. When Chrysler says Go for it, they go all in!

I think the Superbird is one of the coolest NASCAR designs ever.

COT is undisputed for #1.

Its literally the antithesis of the idea of stock car. It removes the manfactures ability to come up with cool designs that can change the game.

I was hoping you'd put the Superbird on this list. Not because I find it ugly, but because I never get tired of seeing footage of the Superbird 😂

Say what you will about the Matador, I bloody LOVE it! Those earlier models were really just the 1970 Rebel with a different nose and name, which makes sense since AMC really wasn't doing too well financially. Honestly never knew AMC ever took part in NASCAR until now, only knew about them partaking in the Trans Am series. So you've really taught me something new today!

The first time I saw a Dodge Charger Daytona I instantly fell in love, honest to god. Sorry man. It’s actually my all time favorite car, and has been since I was about 5 years old. I understand I might be some sort of exception, but I just wanted to let you know at least one of “me” exists.

Racing logistics aside, while I was editing this video I came to like the design of the AMC Matador. It's probably because I like older car designs but it's a nice looking vehicle in my humble opinion. :^P

I love the look of the Malibu (so much, I own one). My shorttrack was filled with Montes, only one guy race a MAlibu, so it stood out and looked badass.

While the AMC Matador wasn't the best, the Javelin in trans am was pretty awesome.

Honestly you opened my eyes with that last one. Grew up with those cars and had tones of diecast versions of em, but never really realized how strange they looked until now

Aerocars never got banned. They simply put a 305cid on aero bodied cars. Some racers tried running them in the 71 season with the displacement restrictions.

80's US sedans look like they were designed by someone who tried to design a European sedan for the US from memory also while blindfolded.
