Hehe looks like some of you don’t like my opinions... I stick by what I think, but I’d love to see what you guys’ opinions are! You could even perhaps justify why a car on this list shouldn’t be!

Lots of Nissan Jukes where I live, I agree that they are intensely weird looking cars and I am surprised went into mass production without the 2nd generation facelift. For the record I actually like the design of the Aston Martin Lagonda, max "how people in the 1980's thought 2022 was going to look" vibes from every aspect of its design.

My friends and I call the multipla “the mitosis car” because it looks like a cell splitting

My mom owned a Juke. Me and my dad called it, “The Puke.”

A few tidbits on some of these cars from an American viewer for you:

Despite the sales numbers on the PT Cruiser, even to this day it's fairly common to see them driving around on American roads still (though usually beat to hell). I would say that it's a "popular" car but that would suggest people actually like the things when in fact aside from the poor saps who bought them new they're pretty universally hated and laughed at. The guy who designed the car later went on to design the Chevrolet HHR for GM which similarly tried to take cues from the vintage American 'surf wagon' but like the PT Cruiser just ended up being another goofy looking 5 door built on economy car bones.

The Scion brand, while almost entirely missing it's target demographic, sold their rebadged Toyotas pretty okay early on and the first gen xB has a cult following of sorts for being quirky, reliable, inexpensive to buy nowadays and a wide aftermarket making them fun to tinker with. On a similar note the xB's success is likely why Nissan brought the second gen Cube to the US though that was a sales flop and uncommon to see on the road. As for it's softer, rounder design, it was called the "Puyo" in it's home country of Japan which is supposedly some sort of Japanese euphemism for something that's "cute", so in other words it's a very Japanese design for Japanese tastes.

And lastly Saturn is an interesting company to read about as initially they were a branch of GM with a long leash and they had a very interesting design and sales philosophy. Late in their life they Saturn just ended up becoming rebadged Opels for Americans, but at the end of their life they did give us something cool in the form of the Saturn Sky which you may know as the Opel GT.

Edit: And the Aztek was hated when it was new, and it's hated now. No one would give a fuck about it if it weren't for Breaking Bad.

when you mentioned the pacer i was worried you would say the Jensen Interceptor

They picked the Aztec for Walter White in Breaking Bad on purpose to make him look as pathetic as possible in the beginning lol. The head write chose the car himself, saying it was the saddest car he could think of for a person to drive lol.

I have a problem with almost every Saturn. The headlights. They are WAY too close together on almost every model.

Nissan Juke is like someone tried to push an inflatable toy and tried to push it into a suv with a front compartment.

The Multipla is a joke (on the outside), but it was made for interiors (3 front seats) and for practical use

I mean, it doesn't consume as much as a 18 wheeler but more like a Ford Ka (90's model, not the MoDeRn tAkE oN cLaSsiC cArS. Fuck you Ford, the Mustang Mach 5 is a joke. I mean, take off the Mustang badges, the overall "Mustang" style and it can make a pretty good electric SUV, but WHY put the Mustang name on it? The Mustang is one of the best muscle and non-'muscle cars in History. The iconic sport design is completely ruined. I get that the 2018 Mustang is kinda ugly, but it's just the 2015 model redesigned. Other than that, it looks great for what it is)

I think the issue with the XB is that on shitspec models it doesn’t work, the specced up ones look cool af imo

Quick note about Scion: they were actually very popular in the united states for a while. While not on the level of the main brands their Scion branch had a pretty big younger following and the scion TC was a huge success selling over 427 THOUSAND models. For a marquee brand those are great numbers and for a short while was one of toyota's biggest selling sports cars.
Edit: Also a note about the Cube (I'm surprised you didn't mention the dashboard carpet, look it up) and the xB: Boxy cars were super popular in japan for young men in their 20s. During the 2000s and early 2010s they were the best selling body style so you saw almost all major japanese brands creating some kind of box. When they sent them over to the states they didn't do as well for young people but one odd market that they tapped into was the elderly market. As it turns out, the boxy shape was perfect for older people who had a hard time fitting in shorter or sleeker cars. The doors opened up wide and were low enough for anyone who had a hard time moving could easily get into an xB. Ironically, if toyota rebranded the BB (japanese name) not into a scion but some kind of low cost toyota for older people then it likely would have been a hit given the lack of that market being served.

Top 10 racing (not rally) best design

(Probably)
1# Lancia 037 JGTC
Yes
It's the same 037 from Group B but as a race car

It looks great with the wider tyres and lowered boy (yes it raced with the Martini livery)

i think nissan cube and scion xb is quite charm ngl, and although the citroen bx is the most uncompetitive and ugly duckling group B car, i see them really unique in term of styling. Also the AMC Pacer is fine for me not ugly but not good looking either, and thats it, i agree with your opinion on Aston Martin Lagonda, Nissan Juke, Fiat Multipla, and PT Cruiser, and Pontiac Aztec they are look hideous as hell.

In italy we use to say "sei brutta come una Multipla" translated "you look ugly as a Multipla"....probably the first and only car in history used to insult people....😆

the Aztec looks like it jumped out of one of these cheesy 80s future movies ... like robocop or double dragon ...
