I may be the only international student in the history of the US who suffered from depression and anxiety. Other than estrangement and cultural barriers that exasperate depression, I had the extra pressure of having a scholarship and needing to maintain 12 credit hours per semester regardless of my mental health. I tried everything from counseling to pills, nothing worked.
