I Finish WAY MORE MUSIC with ONE SIMPLE Technique in Ableton Live

Ableton Live doesn't have a Bounce in Place feature. But we can commit our MIDI and Effects to Audio using the Freeze and Flatten features. I use this technique to commit to my decisions and move my music forward.

I personally do not use the My Project folder. I have a closed group and call it "unused". This is where all the midi tracks I have converted to audio end up but also tracks I have disabled. This gives an overview. So I still have the possibility to change something if necessary. I choose the color gray and put it on top in the first position. So it is not noticeable and does not disturb.

Is freeze > flatten not the same as bounce in place?

Great video, I use Reaper and have set hot keys for this F3 (FThreeze) to Freeze/Bounce and F4 (FThaw!) to return to MIDI. The problem is that it's now TOO convenient and other than saving some CPU I can bounce/unbounce so easily that it doesn't really help me to commit!!! The concept is crucial though, I've spent hours fiddling with an EQ or Compressor rather than moving the track horizontally and getting it done!

Yes but thats only part of the game, as in my case I then sit down put on the metronome and I have to adjust every audio track to the left for small miliseconds. Why? Because it will loose your groove and sounds unpleasent if you dont do that.

Use only audacity & your line ins, mics . Even refrain using metronome.

Maybe I’m missing something, but wold t it be just as simple to save a new version of your project before bouncing to audio, and then you still have a version of your project that is all in MIDI thst you can always go back to, if needed?
