BOSS: SDE-3000D Dual Digital Delay

I am old enough to remember quite clearly the year 1983 and all the fun I had back then. I remember also the introduction of the rather flash SDE-3000D from Roland. It had up to 3000ms of pristine delay with modulation and a swag of other tricks. Come forward 40 years and I'm (surprisingly) still here to help welcome the SDE-3000D Dual Digital Delay into the world. And what a cool pedal it is. The SDE-3000D takes all of the charms from the original 1U unit and adds a second delay plus tons of routing and stereo field options. It's just as cool as its ancestor and it has the added bonus of modern tech. Love it. Oh! And apparently there's an EVH version as well. I look forward to giving that one a shot sometime. This delay pedal is on my wish list. It's one of them I've already got to petals here for a nice bit of crunch and gain and whatever I need, but I was thinking of pairing it up with the electro harmonics POG3

Back in the day I used the SDE-3000 and the DEP-5... They were (and still are, honestly) amazing sounding effects. Along with the PCM 60 and 70, they were the 80s and early 90s in a rack setup. This new unit is a welcome nod to the classics.

I just watched Leon Todd demo the EVH version :) i think they're pretty cool. there's been a gap in the market for a superdelay like this since the demise of the UD Stomp, imo. Any Holdsworthy type presets in there? Modulated delay is just about the best thing ever in my book.

I do have line 6 M5, now i interested for this game changer.. Roland SDE is the most valuable delay back then ...
Pair with my M5 for delays, with midi.. i can have a lot of Digital and Tube Echo, Tape delays in my set up ...
With the expression pedals ..can control it more easy on stage..

Really great sounding/looking unit! I would like to know what it can do that the DD-500 can't though. Seems like it's a lot more straight forward to program than the DD-500 at the very least.

Dig this demo. Is the EVH version able to quickly dial the same time relationship between the 2 delays, and to turn each on or off with it's own switch?
