One of the features included with the suite is a remote server. I’ve tested it and it mostly works well, except that you need an external program for audio and if you ever lose the connection, the server end holds the port so you cannot log in from another computer. You get an access denied error. I was hoping Mike would mention the remote access feature, but in this video he said he uses a third party software, Remote Ham Radio. instead of their own software.

HIINT: Name your Audio Devices in Windows. For example, 7610 Line In and 7610 Line Out. I use 3 MicroHam Keyer 3 and three rigs and this makes life easier.

I appreciate the video and the HRD guy coming. I think he could have done a little bit more succinct job of explaining why no subscriptions but you get bug fixes etc perpetually. You guys slightly did talk over each other I think.
So my understanding is if you buy a license today then for the next 12 months you get any new features that come out and updates to those. However that license key is good forever in that you get bug fixes etc forever (but not new features after the first 12 months, unless you upgrade).

I see the FT-710 still isn't directly supported, you have to use the 991a or something. That's ridiculous when the radio has been out over a year and other programs like WSJT-X had to write support because of the significant CAT changes.

There are those that use 40+" screens and those with laptops. Is HRD becoming HUGE monitor only software. Are laptop users testers with laptop displays. It's a different design goal for laptop screen use.

Not a fan of HRD because it their past business operations. The early versions were crowd funded but after buying the rights they issued take down notices for the crowd funded versions. Also killed licenses over bad reviews. Too many better options. IMHO

I could not get HRD Alert to work. I double checked the IP and port settings but no luck. Also, is there a way to update the SSTV that is loaded into DM780? The ver. that comes up in mine is the old v. 1.03 and looks no where close to what you are using. Thanks N0FJP

I have and generally like HRD, but it’s becoming clear the program is trying to be all things for everybody.. idk… hoping improvements come very soon as I’ve been holding off jumping ship

I find Ham Radio Deluxe a nightmare. No easy way to see how to use it. go to one thing and touch any part of it and pages disappear. Have tried to renew support 4 times getting denied 4 times saying no record of my yet I was able to see my permeant key tied to my callsign W6CEF. If it so good why is it impossible to do anything.

I've come across this presenter from HRD in the past and I can't follow his content. He approaches it so quickly and with so little explanation that it quickly becomes overwhelming for me. If I could follow along with what he's doing, I probably wouldn't need to be watching this video.
