How to Win Against 7-Star Cinderace, BEST Raid Counters in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

These are the best (and worst) Raid Counters you can use for the 7-Star Cinderace Tera Raids that start next week. This event will feature a battle against a Cinderace with the Fighting Tera Type and the Mightiest Mark. It can only be caught once per save file, it will be Shiny locked.

This event will run from December 30th through January 1st 2022 and repeat January 13th through January 15th.

I really appreciate all the effort you put into not only listing a pokemon to build but a whole roster and how to run each role. This is very encouraging as a lot of these are not TOO hard but I also don't want to go into Cinderace (or any 6-7* raid) just to be the reason the team falls. Thanks for all you do!!

This should be required watching for all Cinderace raiders! I really like how your mon choices aren’t predicated on a move Cinderace might know. For the most part, as long as Gamefreak doesnt get spicy, these suggestions work regardless of what Cinderace knows!

This video is brilliant, thank you so much! I was very lucky with the random players I was teamed up with for the Charizard raid. I used a tanky Azumarill build (no belly drums from me), set up an Aqua Ring then spammed Play Rough. I was with 2 Sylveon players who kept boosting my attack with Helping Hand and a Grimmsnarl player who used utility moves like Light Screen and kept healing us with cheers. None of our Pokemon fainted and we took it out quite easily!

Thanks! Currently building my Armorouge, Ceruledge, and Slowbro. I used Azumarill and Fluttermane on Char and now I’m gonna try to be more support/fill on Cindy to shore up the weak spots that are sure to be showing up this weekend. Great content!

I think Altaria could be a phenomenal pick.

It is very similar to Pelipper and Arcanine. It lacks the immunity that Arcanine's Flash Fire provides, but it resists both Fire and Fighting like Pelipper (which we're assuming will be the most common attacks), and isnt weak to either Iron Head, Bounce/Acrobatics, or Gunk Shot.

It also lacks the immediate support that Pelipper's Drizzle offers, but it's moveset more than makes up for it:

- Rain Dance
- Hurricane / Moonblast
- Feather Dance / Will-O-Wisp
- Cotton Guard / Roost / W-O-W

Tera Flying (Hurricane)

Tera Fairy (Moonblast)

Featherdance works the same as Arcanine's Charm which will snowball faster than Pelipper's Chilling Water.

Rain Dance, while requiring a turn of set up instead of Drizzle, is still very valuable and worth it if we're expecting Pyro Ball spam. It could also help support Pelipper who's Drizzle ended.

Hurricane is obvious under Rain, but the PP is very low. Moonblast alleviates the issue of low PP, but it is significantly weaker and only STAB when Terrastalizing; Terrastalizing into Flying/Fairy also removes one of your resistances. It does however have the benefit of not relying on Rain to be up.

The rest are filler and can be tailored to your own preferences. Cotton Guard and Roost are self-sustaining. W-O-W compounds with Feather Dance.

You could even replace Rain Dance for any of the other filler options if you choose to run Moonblast.

Really loving the attention Espathra has been getting now that the raid is out. It's one of my favorite new Pokemon, and Cinderace's love of Bulk Up spam makes Opportunist Espathra really shine. I run mine with Reflect/Feather Dance/Lumina Crash/Roost, and alongside the free Bulk Ups Espathra has no trouble surviving multiple Pyro Balls while shredding Cinderace's stats and chunking the shield with Tera Psychic.

Thanks for the video! I've been playing for years but I'm mostly a shiny hunter so I've only ever made a few competitive pokemon. This gave me a very good place to start and the graphics were easy to understand. I think I'll make a Amourouge and maybe a slowbro if I have time.
