Kopa didn’t die tho.... zira thought she killed him but he was just badly hurt from the claws and teeth. She hid him in the elephant graveyard. Years later, when he was an adult, he ran away from the elephant graveyard and ran to the pridelands only to find his family, his mother father sis bro and vitani. He recognized everybody and everybody recognized him. This was at the declaration of kiara and kovu being king and queen. They stopped the ceremony and placed the king in his rightful place.
