Very interesting. I always wondered if this was possible. Great job!
Looking forward to a follow up once you have more time on it.

A great video Erik, nice how you list the details and bring it all down to a common denominator. I like this kind of edition. Good work as always. Keep it up and have fun. Ride on

as much as i try to avoid brand-facts (every manufacturer builds good and bad bikes), i've heard multiple people say not to buy used evils, because there's a big chance they've been ridden hard. it just comes with who they sell to. that fork is truly sick, but its color reflects that a little too well. :P love how you talk us through the conversion. dude, you're killing it on the production value.

That was an awesome conversation, I'm lucky enough to have a 27.5 Trail Bike and a 29er Enduro Bike. 27.5 is definitely better for jumps and my 29er is a beast for the southern Arizona black diamond chunk. Awesome video my friend.

I did the experimenting with the bike. I run a 170 crank length that helps with the pedal strikes with a lower bottom bracket. A fork with more travel would also raise up the BB but not much. I've been tempted to throw a 29er fork on my 5010 to go mullet but I'm not going full 29er.

I just converted my 2022 Devinci cobain hardtalil to 27.5" wheels with the 160 fox 36. Bike was sluggish and slow. The 27.5 wheels made this bike come alive. So quick and poppy with the smaller wheels. Jumps and turns 100 times better.

One of my bike is exactly the same as your one here in this video but riding it mullet set up cuz I was worried about the bb height.. thank you very much for this video now I can finally convert it into fully 27.5

I JUST switched to 27.5 on my Nukeproof scout 290. I run a yellow frame with a Bomber Z2 with 150mm travel. Excited to try it. 165 cranks btw so should help with pedal strikes.

Gnarly Trail indeed !! Good Ride !! maybe a little less air in the tires ??? to get rid of the poppy feel ??

If you reduce the size of both wheels, your head angle doesn't change and your bottom bracket drops by half of the difference in wheel diameter

Hey! Yes I did the same with my 2022 Trek EX 7. The only thing I did with mine was change my wheels to 27.5s. I left my Fox 36 forks that are 29ers but love it. Yes the peddle strikes are a thing but thats not a big deal. My purpose is to be able to swap wheels depending on what I’m going to ride. Trails, jumps or downhill!

So if I'm not mistaken you should have left the 29 forks because that way it doesn't adjust your front-end....

You're dropping fork and wheel size .... But the back can only drop wheels size those moving weight up front more....

Now you got s/th similar to my canyon torque there. I love that bike for almost everything (except going uphill forever or riding the puptrack)
