Shawshank-Like Prison Escape FOILED By IHOP Workers

"Two Virginia inmates were found at an IHOP restaurant after they escaped by digging a hole with tools made from a toothbrush and a metal object, authorities said.

John M. Garza, 37, and Arley V. Nemo, 43, were re-arrested early Tuesday hours after they broke free from the Newport News Jail Annex, the Newport News Sheriff’s Office said.

Jail staff members discovered Garza and Nemo were missing from their cell during a routine head count at about 7:15 p.m. Monday. Authorities believe the two men found a "construction design weakness" in the wall and created "primitive-made tools constructed from a toothbrush and metal object" to escape, a news release said."

I don't know if anybody realize this but that wall was busted out from the outside. Look at the way the brick is chiseled down not broken. Not to mention the debris on the outside. There was more used than just primitive tools made from a newspaper, toothbrush and turkey bologna. That is too coarse thick and I'm pretty sure that it's supposed to have rebar reinforcements since its a prison. They might want to view the security cameras.

Hilarious! Just like Henrico County jail when it first opened. Inmates dig through the wall with no problem since the standard "Roll Bars" weren't installed in the walls. Now the taxpayers will have to pay a huge sum of money to have thick metal plates installed over the walls in each cell and exterior wall. I wonder who the contractor was that built the With Henrico it was a gang of bikers who built the whole Municipal Complex and purposely left a 1 1/2 ft. gap at the top of the walls where Roll Bars weren't installed at. Henrico took the low bid on the construction contract, and it bit them in the ass! Looks like Newport News took the low bid contractor as well!
