Russia says it has moved to suspend its implementation of a UN-brokered grain export deal which has seen more than nine million tons of grain exported from Ukraine and brought down global food prices.
Russia has accused the United Kingdom of helping Ukraine plan a drone attack on its Black Sea Fleet in the Crimean port of Sevastopol.

Al Jazeera's Harry Fawcett reports from Kyiv, Ukraine and Al Jazeera's Resul Serdar reports from Istanbul, Turkey.

It’s almost like any war in modern times becomes a world war.

So russia is expecting to commit abuse and atrocities against their neighbor, but are surprised that Ukraine lashed out? What kind of delusion is that?

Well before Russia said the issue was Ukrainian mines blocking the routes but now that the clear routes are known, and the ships are checked by UN + Turkey ukranian ships can still leave without Russia’s involvement, no?

Something doesn’t add up…
Did the grain deal involve any agreements not to attack the Russian Black Sea Fleet? I don’t know what the details were, just that an agreement had been reached.
Even so, the Black Sea Fleet are *military* assets that are being used for *military* purposes while the Ukrainians grain is part of civilian trade, so why would Russia use a strike against its fleet as grounds to abandon the agreement?

Never understood why the UN doesn't suspend Russian vote and interaction

Russia didn’t want the deal in first place so they were just waiting for an excuse to terminate it

According to the United Nations Joint Coordination Center, as of September, 36% of Ukraine's grain shipments had gone to Europe. 20% went to Turkey, a major miller of wheat from where it could then be reshipped to other countries. 27% went to Asian countries, while 17% went directly to Africa. Many of these were existing contracts blocked by Russia.

About time that Turkey decides which side it’s on stop playing a two headed game.Come on U.N put your foot down raise a naval force to allow the grain to get to the starving in Africa.

People talking about only few grains shipped to African countries is ridiculous. Are the grains from Ukraine free?. Don't companies around the world have to pay for it. Ukraine has it clients just like Russia do has its clients. Are you asking if they were pre existing contracts before the war and how many grain shipments from Russia has also been sent to Africa.

The UN needs to put a naval force in place to ensure grain shipments. It was stupid to let Russia be the ones escorting ships to begin with.
