Russia suspends grain agreement with Ukraine

Russia has suspended its involvement in an UN-brokered grain deal with Ukraine.

Under the agreement, Ukraine had been able to restart grain and fertiliser exports which had stalled due to the ongoing war with Russia.

It comes after an alleged Ukrainian attack on Russian ships in the Crimean city of Sevastopol.

The agreement was signed on July 22 for a period of 120 days with the possibility of extension.
The European Union did not fulfill the terms of the grain deal, so it was not extended:

1. Approximately 10% of the grain is sent to the needy, the remaining 90% is exported to the EU countries. The request for a report on the movement of grain by the EU countries was ignored.
2. Blocked fertilizers for countries in need in EU ports.
3. 150 million tons of grain have been harvested in Russia this year. For a comfortable annual residence within the country, 70-80 million tons are enough. The proposal of the Russian side to transfer its grain to African countries for free was ignored.
4. The export of Russian grain and fertilizers has not been restored. Restrictions have not been lifted. Commercial banks refuse to make payments, and insurance companies refuse to insure cargoes coming from the ports of the Russian Federation.
5. Kyiv does not fulfill its obligations to unblock the export of Russian ammonia.
6. The West has limited sea transportation from the Russian Federation, thereby blocking the export of mineral fertilizers.
7. The grain deal was used to carry out a terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge.

Russia has harvested its own record grain harvest this year . over 50 million tons. Russia will independently supply this grain to needy countries for FREE without the participation of the West.

Let's be honest and frank. This grain deal is not between Russia and Ukraine, but between Russia and the West. Grain exported from Ukraine is the property of Western agro-industrial holdings, grain grown by them on Ukrainian land.
