I have a 2019 2.4 manual, it is great value for money but I do wish I had some of the creature comforts that come standard in the 2.8, like LED headlights, cruise control (big must for the long trips) better on board computer for trip data, with steering wheel controls etc. I ended up doing an ECU flash to get a bit more power but it does effect fuel economy.

If you really want an auto, you have to go for the 2.8. The auto in the 2.4 is a dog even when unloaded, it also gets worse real world fuel consumption. I would highly recommend test driving them back to back and don't be afraid to put your foot down and see what the overtaking speeds are like, IMO it is not safe to have a car that struggles to kick down a gear and overtake with intent.
