Hungary next door also has issues in several regions, the river Tisza is so low on water it looks like you could cross it by foot (still dangerous to do so though, quicksand and stuff). Still it's nowhere THIS bad! I hope Romania gets some rain soon!

i am romanian, living in romania. this is only happening in the south of the country, and the real reason is that people there are lazy and cheap. they didn't invest in irrigation. the e.u. gave romania money for this, but the corruption is still a big problem. complex issue, for sure, but it is not drought's fault!
