In the season 2 episode, "Two Cars in Every Garage and Three Eyes on Every Fish", which aired in 1990, Bart and Lisa catch a 3-eyed fish, which they named Blinky, in a pond next to the nuclear power plant. 21 years later, in 2011, fishermen in Argentina actually caught a real 3-eyed fish in a reservoir near a nuclear power plant.
