Asteroid impact 2028: Protecting our planet

It’s the year 2028, and we've been carefully monitoring a worrying situation: an enormous asteroid is en route to strike Earth, although the exact point of impact is not yet clear.

National governments are planning to evacuate millions of people, an undertaking that will cause untold human misery and disruption on a gigantic scale. If the asteroid’s impact zone can be fixed, perhaps such chaos can be avoided.

In the hypothetical impact scenario presented in the video, the asteroid is forecast to hit in the Pacific not near any inhabited islands. While we're not oceanography experts, we surmised that for this fictional video, a watery impact would be the least threatening.
There are Tsunami warning systems operated by a number of Asia-Pacific countries, and, knowing in advance where the asteroid would hit would allow these civil warning systems to do their job.

Additional pre-covery observations of the asteroid from 1990 were quickly found that refined the orbit and it is now known the asteroid will pass the Earth on October 26, 2028, at a distance of 0.0062 AU (930, 000 km; 580, 000 mi), about 2.4 times the Earth–Moon distance. This is a real event in the near future, some say, It could still hit if the unexpected happened.
