I work in the operating room---as a nurse, and ortho docs are the best to work with, so down to earth and fun!

To become a doctor, you have to really, really want it! So if you do, you will do anything you have to, including paying extra for tutoring, sacrificing friendships and girlfriends, family functions, a social life, etc. all for good grades. Good luck!

Looking heavily into osteology and doing a fellowship in the foot/ankle as my future career. I'm currently seventeen, but going from this it seems like I'd be around 31 before I become certified...its a long road ahead of me. Hopefully I will be able to reap the rewards.

I am completing my final year of Undergraduate and have been accepted to medical school for the entering class of 2010. Orthopedic surgery has been my dream since shadowing an orthopedic resident as a sophomore. What should I do during medical school, besides obtaining a high class rank and doing well on my step exams, to be competitive for a orthopedic surgery residency.

Question! Can you become a sports medicine physician for a professional team without performing surgery. I would love to do that and just focus on primary care rather than performing surgery. Is that possible?

I am only a lowly nurse, but I think it depends on the med school you are applying to. And also, your MCAT score has to be good.
