How do you know what kind of heating element to order?

Just because you check continuity an it shows hood don't mean it is. One line on terminal other line on the heater box from if it beeps its grounded out . I'm sure you know that but others may not

My element has continuity and gets 120 volts but it is not heating. It is a new element and was working before I buttoned it up but quit. All fuses and thermostats are checking good.

Don't buy from Amazon it's only 1/2 the life. Always buy from manufacturer for extended life as long as you keep it cleaned on the back and through the exhaust pipe tube. Buy from a appliance store or ask them to order you one. That's what I did in my town. It did cost me &70. Prices have gone up but this will lastt me many yrs if I keep the back cleaned. Like every 2 months clean the back and exhaust tube. Along with the dryer lint trap.
