I normally post longer videos. I'm not changing my format. This is just a one off short I wanted to share with you.

What a horrific tragedy. I can't even begin to imagine the suffering those poor people endured on the river for 3 weeks

How could those men allow their families to starve? Why not pull the boat to land, and hunt? Did they not know how to fish? This was another man-made tragedy.

My ancestors used a flat boat to traverse Kentucky from east to west on the Ohio River. Then they took the Mississippi River to St. Louis where they joined the Missouri River to reach the Kansas Territory. I didn’t realize just how incredible the journey must have been until hearing this story and looking at a map.

I like your intro/outro music, very atmospheric without being over the top.

Hearing these stories make you appreciate what you have. At times it makes me want to vomit. When I see adults bitch piss and moan when the Wi-Fi isn't working. During the 70s mom, sister, brother and me slept on hideaway bed in the couch. We used a Lincoln wood burning stove to heat living room and kitchen. Shut the doors to rest of the house. Could not afford to heat entire house. We survived. Mom kept a roof, food and clothes on our backs.

It's really great to see a new upload from you. I appreciate your content a bunch and I've been hoping to see some new uploads. I wish YT was more supportive I can't stand that YouTube makes it so difficult for quality creators on this platform. I love YT but they make it so hard for so many good creators. Fair use covers so much when someone is making a mini doc type video. Same when difficult topics get covered.. I use YT all the time but man i wish they supported creators who cover difficult topics better & chill out with all this nonsense that makes it so difficult for creators.

The Ohio River has quite the bloody history for decades it served as a boundary between the white kentuckians and the indigenous people of Ohio. And there was a lot of warfare between these two groups.

Things have to be very hard for people to grab kids and jump on a boat with little food 😢

Always good to hear from you, Curious World, even for a one off like this one.

As someone who lives a mile from the Ohio River in East Liverpool, Ohio, I love hearing any story of strange wet highway west and south.

Love the special care taken with the editing 👌 you can tell immediately. It's like the start of some Netflix mystery or something. Excellent!

I think it's great how your videos have improved over time-always solid stories- the quality is catching up to the awesome narration. Very enjoyable as always.

I need to dig through my family ancestry. It's possible this could be relatives of mine. Purely based on names and location. Idk.

Short but sweet - great all the same - thank you. Have you ever thought of covering The Kingsbury Run Murders from the 1930's ? I think you would make a good job of that one (*_*)

I find this hard to believe. There's tons of bars restaurants and marinas along there. There's a 7/11 right there in Evansville they could have grabbed some hot dogs
