I road with Greg in Montreal as a warm up to the Grand Prix of America road race in 1989 after he won the Tour de France with Steven Bauer. Great guy, saw the pellet marks from his shooting. Kept pace as an 18 year old and we did 4 loops before the race that morning, 65kms, before a 200+ km race. Greg had the heard that Lance never had.

Asteriskstrong is a psychopath. Of course, he'll never sincerely apologize or even think he did anything wrong.

Greg Lemond was the Best US cyclist, one of the best ever and is one of the most decent person ever. Lance is a child.

Armstrong is not anyone to have a friendship with.
Said with absolute conviction and the same as many would say, who's crossed paths with him.

Armstrong is an unstable sociopath who had everyone fooled, even me, because I truly wanted to believe in the better angels of ourselves. At their prime, riding clean, Greg would have kicked Armstrong’s butt everyday of the week and twice on Sunday’s. You can’t compare Greg’s V02 max of 92+ to Armstrong’s 78. Not only that, but Greg is a better person, period!!!

L.A. has been very lucky not to end up in jail for the horrible things he did, like a mafia boss, to Lemond, Walsh, O Reilly and Betsy Andreu

Funny how Lance Armstrong will go down as one of the biggest losers in the history of sports.

I started biking because of Lemond's Tour wins. Amazing cyclist with seemingly unlimited potential.

Armstrong still behaving like a bully. Which is worse than being a liar and a drug cheat.
A leopard can't change it's spots.

Greg was a beast as a teen. His carson city criterium victory as a teen was legendary.at that rime. Who is this kid like 14 lapping the field of cat 1 2 senior riders. We knew of him in seatle at that time..more from group discussions than reading. So i dont know how much is legend or fact. I like keeping it thar way.far more fun. I trained with the local tom broznoeski who was also a bit of a beast on the road and alex steada the canadian. So we had some riders in our region and they all said greg lemond oh my god. Alex was the first north american btw to win a tour leg.

Is there a bigger liar in all of sports history than Lance Armstrong?!

At some point you have to let it go for your own sake…

Lance could have done that Big spiritual thing on behalf of bike racing after cancer. He coulda said I took EPO, it worked like a nightmare affirmation, I got cancer of the balls. Then he could have taken the lead and done either block chain or reality TV. Just a parallel universe fantasy.

But giving the Dodgeball story to kids in cancer wards, low as pond scum.

Greg won without EPO . In his era they all did testosterone patches, diuretics and cortisone

I’m a huge fan of both Greg & Lance.

Remember, Greg’s main income was his bike company.
But Greg screwed up when he attacked Lance publicly (he was well aware of the code of silence in the peloton).

I believe part of his motivation was to catapult his Lemond bike brand; as well as himself.

That was a big mistake. (Greg didn’t have a good advisor back then.)

But I know how we can settle this - let’s put them both on bikes and get them out racing against each other. I’d pay to see that!

Lances story is a tragedy of win at all costs. Throw any and everyone under the bus who doesn't bow to king Armstrong. So sad that he was given a talent and wasted it on self glorification.
