As a skier, our boots are made to be extremely tight, only to be non cramped when in the downhill position. I’m a size 7.5 but my boots are a 5. I can’t even imagine her feet being jammed in a boot, especially a professional boot!

I'm glad the functional footwear scene is expanding. People still look at me weird when they ask why I only wear functional shoes with a wide toe box to allow for splay and zero heel lift. They literally can't wrap their heads around it. This is a worst case scenario, but those bunions and fucked up feet are insanely normal due to shitty footwear.

I can’t imagine the pain needed for someone to want their foot or toes amputated, but I can say I somewhat can sympathize. I torn my metatarsal in my foot about 25 years ago and didn’t know. I continued to play sports, basketball and football at a very high-level, but then I tore another tarsal two years ago, which lead to a 5+ hr surgery to repair them both and the damage that was done, including several other issues. When your feet hurt, it’s like your back and teeth hurting, you can do anything outside of laying down or sitting.

Had 4 opérations on one foot. Its hell. My foot will never be the same and pain 24hrs
