By using tactile and optical measuring techniques to monitor the process in the mold assembly, we ensure adherence to tolerances which would not be possible with the conventional sand casting. With this method and directional solidification in the sand casting mold, material properties and cast part tolerances are achieved that can easily withstand the comparison with series production in die casting.
