dark souls 2 has the best take on hollowing, and really puts into perspective the sheer terror of hollowing

It's crazy how good this intro is. Art of the highest order, sells the tone and hints the story perfectly. Atmosphere is thicker than the bowl of oatmeal. Best intro cinematics in the trilogy.

If you like the theory that Dark Souls II takes place in a Painted World and remember how you left Painted World of Aramis in DS1 this intro spells it out, the the PC falling into a hole to reach Things Betwixt.
