Let's explore Inbox Zero and how to approach your email inbox.

Twice a day, I clear my inbox to zero.
Using a combination of folders and snooze, I clear my inbox to help set up my inbox for the day ahead.

Inbox Zero is referred to as a myth a lot of the time, today I wanted to show you my take on email productivity.

The tool used in this feature is Newton Mail:

I get very frustrated with productivity videos that take several minutes to even get

Cool episode. I started using inbox zero about a year ago and have been quite happy. It is awesome way to decrease clutter and help relieve stress. I used to have 1000's of emails in my inbox and all of that clutter was quite annoying then I declared soft email bankruptcy and started over from scratch. Best thing I ever did :) I used to use Newton Mail but have recently switched to Spark which for some reason just works better for me.

Hi Francesco, it's always helpful and interesting for me to see how others work. I use the GTD-method for personal. For work, I can't use GTD, because I work in a big agency and we have to keep an eye on our e-mails all the time. We have so many customers and each of them has a different deadline on the day when a "product" needs to be finished.

A large part of communication with the customer for day-to-day business takes place via e-mail. That's why, for example, I can't check my emails twice a day (when I come to work and before I leave).

So I have to work here with folders for each customer and I have created rules, so that the e-mails automatically move to the respective folders. Otherwise I couldn't handle the flood of e-mails. When I work on a customer-project, I only check this folder at the given time. In addition, I only keep an eye on the communication with my supervisor and my team. Everything else will be processed later or at the scheduled deadline. (At work we use Outlook 365.)

Hello, I’m curious what the app mentioned was to record a video? I’m seeing Use Loom a fair bit recently that does screen capture and webcam well.

I do not appreciate Newton mail charging such an exorbitant price for their email app. In the US it's 49 bucks at year. My thought is I can Microsoft for Office 365 to get Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. I can't see the value in Newton.

I have @read @waiting @action under my inbox folder so they are always at the top when searching for a folder in the Newton app

Move to @read but then you have to deal with all that read and remember next day emails, still have a lot of emails to deal with. That is where i get all a mess :-)

I wondered if you were aware of Active Inbox It’s a GMail extension I found it right back in it’s beta testing days and I’ve used it ever since, it’s the first extension I ever paid for and sorry but after watching this video it is massively superior to Norton I recommend you check it out. It has been built around the GTD principal. I’m pretty new around here and love what you are doing.
