I've grown Fatsia Japonica in my North East of England garden for decades. I started with one plant which is still going strong and is planted underneath a Trachycarpus fortunei (Chusan palm). It flowers every autumn and I grow more plants from the dusky dark seeds that it produces, which I then give away to friends. Provided it is planted in Spring, so that it has plenty of time to establish before the winter, it should survive in any soil, and even in a container (although heavy soil seems to suit it best). It requires very little attention other than that shown in the video, and the leaves definitely look at their best when the plant is growing in a shady position with some protection from strong chilly winds. It is a great architectural evergreen plant that is easy to grow.

One of my favourites! I have at least 20 Fatsia trees in my gardens. They are a common landscape plant on our island Great video!

I am so excited about my new Japanese Aralia. I prefer succulents, but when I saw this unique plant I just had to have it.
