I really like the whole "airport over the river" concept. Sometimes getting to and from the airport from home is the longest part of the trip.

1) Those air ports are eye sores. Turning them down was the right choice.
2) The Hyperboloid would have been a good pick for New York city. The Met life building is forgettable at best, an eye sore at worse.

Another fun fact about the Sydney Opera House was Utzon's original design for the shell sails would not work with the current building materials of the time and would fail due to Wind. it went through many amendments with the final build designed by other architects but with Utzon's ideas kept in mind.

That airport over the Thames river looks like a ridiculous plan when you show it with planes that need much longer runways than the small planes it was designed for. You even pointed out those planes in the design.

But looking at the design, I wonder if this idea led to the flight deck ships that played a big role in modern warfare...
