ben’s been lucky to win almost all of these games. I don’t see
him doing especially well in the toc

Fun fact: This was the closest game since Hannah Wilson's 3rd game when she won by $3, on 5 May, aka 5/5. Meanwhile, Ben won his 5th game by $5! 😮 AND Monroe was the 5th U.S. President! 😂

There’s a librarian on tomorrow. You know, librarians have brought down some champions, including James and Amy. Look out, Ben.

LOL 1:25 the response when you realized you lost by only 5 bucks.

I’m surprised that Ben Goldstein has the lowest score in 5 Wins so far $49, 298. Similar to Paul Nelson, he had a low score of $54, 900 in 5 Games as well. Can Ben continue on 6 Games? Let’s find out tomorrow.

I wonder what the record is for the lowest dollar amount won but still qualified for the TOC.

The year was very helpful in getting to James Monroe and then it hit me that this was the Monroe Doctrine. Dare I say it, 4 in a row for me. I’ll tie my record if I get FJ tomorrow! I won’t get my hopes up. It might be a sports or show biz question.

That was crazy and Ben has the lowest five-day total until $50, 000 qualifying for the Tournament of Champions and if he wins tomorrow, he can have a low six-day total like Megan Wachspress did under $90, 000 to $100, 000.

Didn’t John Quincy Adams write the Monroe Doctrine????

First I thought it was Madison then made the connection to Monroe.

Having a history degree sometimes helps with these. It didn’t take me too long to figure out it involved the Monroe Doctrine.

Except the Monroe Doctrine was at least in part written by John Quincy Adams....

Good for Ben…but he’s gotta be the obvious lamb for the ToC. I wish I had his luck.

James Monroe is correct, Ben is a 5 day of $49, 298. Congratulations 🎉

I knew as soon as the clue was read that it related to the Monroe Doctrine. At first I thought the answer was John Quincy Adams since he actually wrote the Monroe Doctrine as Secretary of State but I figured that was too difficult for someone without strong American history knowledge. Correctly guessed Monroe.

Clue writers need to do better research next time. John Quincy Adams is who actually wrote the Monroe Doctrine.

I thought it was Napoleon. Turns out he had died 2 years prior. I am dumb.

That's a pathetic 5 day total. Really bad performances by the players
