USS Montgomery (LCS-8) Fires Hellfire Missiles.

An Independence-class Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) launched three Longbow Hellfire missiles that hit a land-based target.
USS Montgomery (LCS-8) launched the AGM-114L Longbow Hellfire missiles in the Pacific Ocean. The missiles, with a range of about five miles, make up the LCS surface-to-surface mission module, one of the three original components of the LCS mission package.
According to the commanding officer of the ship, this test proved the critical next step in increasing lethality of the Littoral Combat Ship.
The Navy said that the Longbow Hellfire missile already plays a key role in the up-gunned surface warfare mission package. Each LCS is capable carrying twenty-four missiles.
