lol, what's up with the negative comments. It seems hashing is a touchy subject heh. Anyway, you should look at lecture 23 for more info, or should watch the whole course if you want to realize the brilliant strategy of this particular teacher, before you judge it. Oh and this is not a computer science teacher 'trying to be funny' this is Richard freaking Buckland who IS funny as hell, and loved by computing students all around the world.
