Realism and anti-realism III: Plato, idealist or realist?

Students are often confused about the question whether Plato was an "idealist" or a "realist". He has this theory of "Ideas" (or "Forms") - in contrast with "material" things - which seems to suggest he is an "idealist". However, he also says that these Ideas are "real" which seems to make him a "realist". Enjoy Jan Academy!
