What is Microsoft PowerApps

Microsoft PowerApps is the no-code platform for developing business applications using no-code( or low-code). PowerApps is part of Microsoft’s Power Platform.

Using PowerApps, citizen developers can create applications very easily and fast without having the knowledge of any programming languages. A teacher or a mechanic can create applications for their day to day activities or small business.

Examples of PowerApps:

- Developing leave applications for a small company.
- Vehicle tracking app for a workshop
- Grade tracking app for teachers
-App to notify patients to take drugs in time

Types of PowerApps

There are 3 types of apps you can create in Microsoft PowerApps such as Canvas apps, model-driven apps and portal apps. The PowerApps portal is a recent addition to the list.

Canvas apps: Using Canvas Apps, power users can create apps like creating PowerPoint presentations by dragging controls from the control menu.

Model driven apps: Applications in Dynamics 365 CE such as sales, customer service and marketing are the examples of model driven apps.

PowerApps Portals: These are the upgraded or PowerApps version of Dynamics 365 portal applications.
