You know what, I'm more and more convinced every time I play that Silvery Barbs should've just remained as a subclass feature and not being made into a spell.

"The BBEG is now Sul Khatesh" - The poor DM five seconds after the party successfully pulled this BS on them.

A not-nearly-as-broken combo for breaking 5e is playing a Chronurgy Wizard (17th-20th), cast Shapechange, and become a creature with Exhaustion immunity (Planetar). Now once a turn, you can take any attack roll, an ability check, or saving throw and make it succeed/fail for no cost other than your reaction.

For a fun level 20 one shot I made an unkillable wizard. Abjuration wizard, true polymorph into a ancient brass dragon (who then shape changed to be a human using the oracle of strixhaven statblock). Fight got scary, I revealed my true form as an ancient brass dragon. I lost my hitpoints, revealed myself as a dragonborn wizard. Immediately shapechanged into a dragon again. Thanks to magic items I had an effective hitpoint total of 932

This wizardly abuse is something I would like to do with a villain wizard that the party keeps fighting where the players keep having to fight the evil wizards similacrums. At low levels they would face more "worn out" copies of the wizard that have already used their high level spell lots.

I see the title and I think:
A shit! What did Wizards of the Coast did this time (or Hasbro) ?!?

One thing to keep in mind about the planatar option for shape change is that it's immune to exhaustion. Consider the implications that has for a cronurgy wizard.

If you add a single level of Order cleric after level 18, you can give every other character in your party an attack that uses their Reaction every round, using the Voice of Authority. You do this by handing out Advantage from casting Silvery Barbs.
In other words, every time you cast Silvery Barbs, someone gets an Opportunity Attack with Advantage. Rogues will LOVE you! DMs will HATE you! :D

Looking forward to the next video, in which Chris shows how True Strike can be OP.

This sounds like it would be absolutely miserable outside a one-shot. Blimey

When marilith was mentioned, I was expecting chron wiz jarring into a Dybbuk to possess it for unlimited convergent future. But i guess this is also kinda broken...

My combo involving Marilith is to go Bard 18, Paladin 2, pick up Shapechange with Magical Secrets from Bard 18, and then Divine Smite with all the attacks. With the Restrained (or bonus points if you can slap Foresight on yourself some way - I'm in AL, and there's a few well-known ways to get a 2nd 9th level spell per day, like a Boon of High Magic from a particular adventure - and then swing), 7 attacks a round, most/all with Advantage is a good number of crits, and you've got a boatload of spell slots to Divine Smite with. Theoretically you could use your own magical longswords if you have them, too, with a lenient DM. Worst case, you're still 18 Bard.

I havent seen this idea before and I love it: Barbarian 5, Rogue X. Double Bladed Scimitar, Revenant Blade Feat, but use it with strength. This setup is online at lv 4 and alleviates the barbarians bad damage progression past the early levels. Consistent Sneak attacks every turn as the finesse property, but no attacks with dexterity are mandatory and with reckless attack advantage on three attacks. It feels like a poor mans paladin, sneak attacking instead of smiting on every turn. I like zealot for the radiant extra d6, or Giant Barb 6 for elemental damage. Then Swashbuckler for initiative mostly. Just imagine a huge bulky barbarian sceaming SNEAK ATTACK in plain sight every so often!

Can't commit to the Patreon long term unfortunately, but wanted to show some appreciation of the great work you do

As an AL player, I don't use Silvery Barbs, but even just being a Marilith is cool.

DM: Ok, but when did you see a Marilith?
Would-be sneaky wizard: Uhhh...

On my bladesinger who's main shapechange has been marilith for like 6 years, I saw this the moment strixhaven came out.

This is why bladesinger is the strongest wizard at level 20, their subclass gets the game's strongest subclass fastest, and shapechanges best with bladesong.

I noted in the black flag release today. "Reactive: The marilith gets up to five extra reactions, but these extra reactions can be used only for Parry."

It will be interesting to see your True Strike and Find Traps build in the next video.
