For me, power is just 2nd or 3rd priority. Reliability and after sale service is the main keys.

Great real world testing series on the latest e-bike motors! Not surprised to see Brose motor winning the overall as Specialized Mission Control app is so easy to use and tune the motor character.

Maybe the Brose, as you say...but when it works ! 😊

But which motor has the best IP rating? Maybe a comparo for water proofing would be a good thing overall!

I love both the Bosch and the Brose the most, each other has their pros and cons, the Bosch is so powerful but I love the mastermind a lot and overall how quite the Brose is 🙌

The best ebike motor of 2024 is the one that lasts to 2025 with being replaced on warranty 😂

Hi sam, have you tried the m560 by bafang and what are your opinions on it. I'm tempted to buy it as an upgrade to my m600, with it being much lighter and more powerful.

I have a 2021 Santa cruz heckler cc with an Shimano ep8 - I've put nearly 1k miles on it, I have had zero problems with my motor.

Awesome series Sam didn’t expect the levo to win as the Brose S Meg is a bit long in the tooth. Name dropped you with quad lock to on my recent purchase.

Thank you Sam, I wonder with what motor specialized will come up with when they issue a new Levo/Kenevo. Appreciate your effort.

Rode a few motors and I think Bosch is the best in reliability. I want a reliable motor overall because Ebike is freaking expensive.

I’ve watched your other vids a bit ago.
The one thing you said was you were surprised the range of the Bafang was good although it had so much power.
The one thing I want to say is that the faster you go up the least amount of Gravity force yo will have. Because you do it faster.
In other words. It does not surprise me there Range is better than expected.
The only big downside of big power is the weight of the engine.

I don’t know why you keep pushing Specialized product.
They look ancient, the motor is the most unreliable ever. I have to change over 10 in the last 6 years on different levo and kenevos bikes.
Bosh is obviously the winner here for both performance and reliability

Maserati and Alfa Romeo make beautiful cars that are amazing to drive, so why doesn't everyone buy them? Reliability. To truly see the e-mtb market grow, we need to see motors with longer warranties, like five or more years, and motors that can be serviced at home. We could be facing class-action lawsuits when warranties expire and $7, 000 e-bikes have dead motors that can't be fixed. When will we start focusing on reliability and not just performance?

Just got back from a one hour ride with lots of hills and am STILL going with BMZ as the king of the hills .
it drops bosch and brose like they are standing still.
i raced my buddy a 48 year old very fit guy riding a bosch cx . i waited at the top wondering if he crashed and then heard some huffing and puffing as he appeared . 😂
Unfortunately the BMZ will never be on any of these lists as it's in a very niche market and not easily testable . i'm happy knowing i can destroy any of those motors with ease .
ok flame away riders 😉

specialized service support, hmmm that could be discussed. I bought a turbo levo on 11/23, a new bike. from the first day it was not right, it had occasional interruptions in driving. I have been to 2 authorized service centers and they did not remove the defect. I also contacted Specialized europa and they told me that everything was done and that it works as it should. however, there were still interruptions. I fixed the problem, I bought a speed sensor, replaced it and everything was ok. so don't give laurels to Specialized because it's not entirely true!
